Incubation Principles

A fertile eggs need the following:

  1. to be clean, undamaged & free pathogens
  2. stored at temperature of 15-18C & relative humidity 75% (12-15C if stored more than 7 days)
  3. incubator temperature of 37.5C at the centre of the egg (the reading need to be 39.5C two inches above the eggs)
  4. incubator relative humidity of 50-60% ( hatcher relative humidity 75%)
  5. adequate aeration from good ventilation (have a complete air change every hour)
  6. adequate turning @ ideally 5 times a day /at least three times a day (the odd number ensures that the eggs are not always on the same side during the long night period)
